Our mission is to provide the continuing world class level of fire suppression, rescue and emergency medical services, as well as fire prevention and education activities, that has been the hallmark of this volunteer organization since 1916, in a way that utilizes the training, experience and expertise of the company members.
So that the residents and visitors of Gloucester Township Fire District 5 & 6, and all those surrounding emergency and police agencies assistance, receive the ongoing, quality life and property protection services that they are entitled and accustomed to.
C Platoon On Winslow Working Fire
March 22, 2012 - On Thursday, March 22, 2012 just prior to noon companies were alerted to 418 Chruch Road for a Building. SD25 arrived on scene with detatched garage with fire showing. Companies made a quick knock with no extension to the A/B Exposure.
A Platoon Extricates One
February 28, 2012 - On Thursday, February 23, 2012 shortly after shift change, A Platoon members were alerted to Erial Road in the area of Deer Park Circle for a crash with entrapment. Communications advised that police were on location with a vehicle overturned with one occupant trapped. 8603 (Captain Breeze) arrived and confirmed the same. Squad 86 and Squad 62 went to work to free the occupant. The patient was transported to Cooper Trauma via ground.
Ice Water Rescue Training
February 28, 2012 - Over the last serveral weeks 14 volunteers have gathered at station 86 to attend ice water rescue training. The students participated in classroom and hands on instruction by Captain Breeze. Students also reviewed the water rescue equipment that the districts have for our use. All the students are now trained to the operations level while we await cold weather and ice to complete the technician level hands on training.
Company Training at Station 85
February 06, 2012 - On Monday, February 06, members of the department gathered to refresh on EMS practical skills. 19 members participated in 4 skill stations and reviewed EMS operations. Gloucester Township EMS also provided an ambulance so the members could become proficent in ambulance ops.
Quint On Aftertoon All Hands In Winslow
January 31, 2012 - On Tuesday, January 31 just after 1400hrs companies were dispatched to 35 Acorn Court for a house fire. 2502 arrived with fire showing from a single family dwelling. The Quint arrived shortly thereafter and began truck company work. The crew encountered heavy fire conditions on three floors while opening up for the engine company.
9/11 Memorial and Artifact Dedication
September 11, 2011 - On Sunday, September 11, members of the department will be participating in a memorial and artifact dedication at the Chews Landing Fire Department. Please be advised that detours will be in effect from 8am to 12pm in the area of Chews Landing and Somerdale Roads. Please plan your route of travel and time allotment accordingly.
4th of July Firework Safety Tips
July 04, 2011 - Each July Fourth, thousands of people, most often children and teens, are injured while using consumer fireworks. Despite the dangers of fireworks, few people understand the associated risks - devastating burns, other injuries, fires, and even death. The Alliance to Stop Consumer Fireworks is a group of health and safety organizations, coordinated by NFPA, that urges the public to avoid the use of consumer fireworks and instead, to enjoy displays of fireworks conducted by trained professionals. Companies were alerted to Dickinson Drive for the house fire. 8501 arrived on scene and reported a kitchen fire. Squad 85 arrived and went to work. The fire was quickly extinguished, with minimal extension.
First Due Kitchen Fire
May 19, 2011 -
Around 1700 hrs Companies were alerted to 1 Flagstone Drive for the house fire. GTPD was on scene reporting a vacant house on fire. The Quint arrived shortly thereafter with fire showing from side delta. Crews made entry via the front door and encountered holes in the floor. Crews then made the basement steps and knocked the bulk of the fire. Truck 62 advised they had extension on floor 2 and Engine 86 made a quick knock. One brother was transported to the hospital from Truck 62 with a minor medical emergency. We would like to wish him a speedy recovery.
Probationer Stires Graduates From DCFD #365

On this day a few members made the trek to the DCFD Training Academy to see fellow firemen John Stires graduate from recruit school. John has been a member with us for several years. We would like to congratulate him and wish him the best of luck with the DCFD and Truck Company 11.
C Platoon Goes To Work On First Due House
April 21, 2011 - While at the college on a burn victim communications advised Squad 85 of a house fire on Doe Drive. County updated the units advising that they were receiving numerous calls. 6201 arrived with fire showing from the delta side with the attic well off. Squad 85 secured their own water supply and went to work. The fire was quickly knocked with minimal extension to the second floor.
Squad Makes Quick Knock
March 19, 2011 - Just after 0800hrs companies were alerted to 7 Heritage Hill for the house fire. Communications advised of one call reporting a dryer fire. Squad 85 arrived on scene with nothing showing. Upon investigation the crew found a laundry room off and stretched a line. The fire was knocked and command scaled back to the units from 85 and Truck 62.
1 Trapped In Front Of Roadhouse AGAIN
March 11, 2011 - Companies were alerted to Berlin-Cross Keys Road for a crash. 8501 arrived in front of the Texas Roadhouse and reported a 2 car crash with one trapped. Squad 85 arrived shortly thereafter and went to work. The patient was extricated and turned over to BLS.
A Platoon Car Into Tree With One Trapped
March 01, 2011 - Just prior to 0300hrs companies were alerted in the area of La Bonne Vie condos for a crash. Police were reporting a one car crash, into a tree, with entrapment. Squad 85 arrived seconds after, confirmed the same and went to work. Squad 85 stabilized the vehicle and had fire suppression, while Squad 86 extricated the victim. Squad 62 was on scene as well. The victim was extricated and turned over to ALS with serious lower extremity injuries.
1 Trapped and 1 Ejected For B Platoon
February 24, 2011 - Companies were alerted to Berlin-Cross Keys Road in front of The Texas Road House AGAIN, for a crash with entrapment. Communications advised that they were getting numerous calls. 8503 arrived and confirmed one trapped and one ejected. The quint, the engine, and Squad 62 split crews and went to work to free the trapped occupant, as well as package a priority patient that was ejected. Squad 85 landed Southstar in the Texas Roadhouse parking lot. The ejected patient was flown to Cooper Trauma with serious injuries.
Valentines Day Double Fatal
February 14, 2011 - At approx. 1230hrs while responding to a first due box, Squad 85 was alerted to a crash with entrapment, on Berlin-Cross Keys Road. Upon arrival crews were met with a three car head on crash. Two occupants were found DOA, and 3 other patients with critical injuries. Command requested to fly the helicopter for a 3 year old patient. Engine Company 86 secured the LZ, but the helicopter was cancelled due to close proximity to the trauma center. 3 Patients were transported to Cooper Trauma and 2 other patients were transported to JFK Washington Township.
Fire Showing In The First Due
January 07, 2011 - Just after 2100 Task Force 853 was alerted to 35 Mulberry Street for the house fire. County Communications advised that they were receiving numerous calls. Squad 85 responded with 6 men and immediately struck the all hands due to smoke visible from the station. Squad 85 arrived shortly after, with fire showing from the delta side, and went to work. The driver secured the water supply, while the crew split up to complete searches and extinguish the fire. Crews made a quick knock and command scaled back to the units from 85 and 62.

January 01, 2011 - Congratulations to the 2011 Line Officers. Chief Kevin Goins, Deputy Chief Mike Iuliucci, Captain Anthony Tomasco, Station Lieutenant Derek Grier, Lieutenant Jason Flinn, Lieutenant Ken Hosfeld, Lieutenant Tom Kenney, and Officer in Training John Flinn.
B Platoon All Hands
August 11, 2010 - At approximately 1530 companies were alerted to 2200 Garwood Road for investigate smoke. While responding County Communications advised units that police were on scene with heavy fire showing. 8503 requested the all hands, arrived and confirmed the same. Quint 85 was the first arriving unit and deployed a line. While crews attempted to open up to make access, partial collapse occurred. All companies went into defensive operations. Companies operated for about an hour before the township bulldozer arrived and demolished the property.
C Platoon First Arriving at Winslow House Fire
June 07, 2010 - Just after Platoon C had cleaned up from dinner, units were alerted to 5
Maureen Court in Winslow Twp. for the house fire with people reported
trapped. EMS Assistant Chief 25502 arrived on scene and reported a 2 story
end of the row with fire showing. Quint 85 arrived and stretched a line to
the Charlie side. The Quint's crew were met with heavy fire, but pushed in
and made an aggressive interior attack. Engine 86 was second arriving and
pulled an additional attack line and met up with the Quint's crew on the
first floor. With the fire on the first floor knocked down and the
protection of Engine 86's line, the Quint's crew was just about to do a
search of the second floor, when command ordered an evacuation due to water
supply issues. With the second alarm being sounded and police confirming all
occupants were accounted for, units switched to defensive operations. The
Quint's crew quickly took their line into the exposure to check for
extension with crews from Winslow. The tower ladder from 253 opened up and
crews continued with their exterior attack. The fire was brought under
control and is being investigated by county fire marshals. The Quint and
Engine cleared just after midnight.
May 27, 2010 - While finishing up inspections companies were alerted to 601 College Dr for a MVA with an occupant trapped. The quint arrived minutes later and quickly removed the occupant with assistance from Squad 62.
EARLY EVENING STRUCTURE FIRE
May 08, 2010 - Task Force 852 was dispatched to the area of 9 Pleasantview Dr. in the Erial section for a structure fire. County Communications was receiving multiple calls of multiple sheds and a fence on fire, endangering other property. Seeing smoke in the area, E86 laid out from the nearest hydrant and arrived confirming reports of multiple sheds and a fence on fire, with exposure issues to other structures. Crew from E86 stretched an 1 ¾ hand line while the second due company and first due truck, Ladder 62, opened up for the engine company. SD62 arrived and secured E86's water supply, while QT85's crew assisted personnel with the second hand line. 8401 had command. E842 went to the division C residence to check access from that yard. Crews from 85, 86, and 62 quickly knocked down the fire, as command scaled the assignment back to E86, L62, QT85, and SD62.
B PLATOON RUNS TWO BOXES IN THREE HOURS
April 20, 2010 - While the men were starting to prepare for the move into the new bunkroom, Task Force 853 was dispatched to 61 Hazeltop Drive for a dwelling. Upon investigation a stove fire with extension to the kitchen cabinets was found, and was extinguished. Companies opened up and assisted FMs with investigation prior to going in service. Just three hours later, while responding for a highway hazard, Squad 25 notified county of a visible column of smoke coming from Erial Rd. Upon investigation a mobile home fire was located at 501 Erial Rd. Squad 85 arrived second due and assisted with extinguishment and overhaul of the structure.
